Description: Using sports to assists kids at risk. Gol de Letra, located in the suburbs of São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), is a NGO that uses sports, education, and culture to help kids embrace “knowledge, culture and citizenship.” The program works with families, schools and institutions connected to the local communities to ensure that the kids recieve enough attention and support from all areas.
How it started: The organization was founded in 1998 by Raií and Leonardo (famous soccer players)
Its Mission: Contribute to the educational development of children and teenagers in order they can act with autonomy to change their realities.
Its Vision: Being acknowledged as an organization that develops and disseminates practices which contribute to social changing.
Its Success: Currently, Gol de Letra is helping 1,3000 youth through its programs.
