Description: Using mainly Hip Hop and other sports to integrate kids and communities. CUFA, known as Central Union of Slums, is located in all 27 states within Brazil. The organization hopes that it can use sports to help Brazilian kids avoid the evil activities that occur within favelas. The program, which runs in Brazillian ghettos, believes that sports will empower its participants to have an innate desire to help themselves. As casino most of the participants seek opportunities to express their attitudes, or question their desire to continue living. Along with Hip Hop, others sports CUFA use include Break dancing, Graffiti, Street Basketball, and Skateboarding.

How it started: CUFA originally began in 1999.

Its founders: CUFA was founded by MV Bill and Nega Giza, two Brazilian rappers. MV Bill has recieved recognition from the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization for his work in using hip top to inspire youth. Nega Giza has been praised for her dedication to combating social issues.

Its Expansion: In 2009, CUFA expanded its ideas to countries outside Brazil. Currently, Argentina, Austria, Bolivia, Chile, Germany, Haiti, Hungary, Italy, Spain, and USA has projects run by CUFA.
