Background: Gaining self-confidence and self-discipline through basketball. Slam Dunk Challenge is a Hong Kong based service program organized for underprivileged young people aged 13 to 17. The participants mostly experience issues related to family and school. These weaknesses, along with money and space, have led them to not participate in any sports. The program hopes to provide opportunities to play sports, and to instill within its participants self-confidence and self-discipline.


How it began: It was started in 1998


Its success: Over 7,000 participants have benefited from the work of Slam Dunk Challenge since 1998
