Description: Uniting people and promoting social change. Basketball Without Borders, founded jointly by NBA and FIBA, runs a basketball program for young players that aims to encourage social change in areas including education, and health. Every year top youth players compete with each other under the guidance of NBA players and coaches. The NBA players work together with local communities to run daily life-skills sessions that highlight the importance of areas such as education, leadership, character development, health, and wellness. The camp promotes friendship and diversity by dividing the campers into teams regardless of race and nationality.

Impact: Under the mentorship of NBA players and coaches, over 1500 players from around 100 countries have been positively impacted by Basketball Without Borders. The organization, which started in 2001, has hosted 24 camps in 5 different continents and built 50 safe places (a place where kids and family can live, learn or play) outside of the United States and Canada.
